How many kinds of pretty flowers grow...
in an English Country Garden?
The English Country Garden quilt is an original English Paper Pieced (EPP) quilt designed by Alison Stothard exclusively for Hexadoodle Quilts.
It features 9 different floral quilt blocks inspired by the plants and flowers growing in Alison's garden in the Heart of the English countryside and includes favourites such as Lupins, Pansies, Marigolds, Poppies and Foxgloves.
Join me in February 2021 for 10 months of stitching, learning and growing together. Over 9 months, we will make a new flower block per month with the final month reserved at the end for finishing off our quilts.
We'll learn how to baste, sew and combine a variety of English paper piecing EPP shapes including hexagons, pentagons, jewels and hexie petals to create unique blooms for your very own English Country Garden quilt.
We'll explore hand and machine appliqué techniques including fusible appliqué, back basting and more!
As our floral quilts blocks bloom and grow, we'll use the Quilt as You Go technique to ensure that we have a finished garden quilt by the end of the year.
