Meet the Tester - Becky Peters
I'm sew excited about my upcoming Sewing Hexessories pattern release, that I wanted to introduce to you to some of the amazing folks who helped to make sure that the pattern was clearly explained, easy to read and accurate for you.
Meet Becky, another of my testers who agreed to be featured...
Please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your patchwork and quilting journey
Hi, I’m Becky Peters from Sydney, Australia
I've been quilting for over 40 years and whilst my favourite techniques are constantly changing, my current favourites are hand piecing and appliqué. In the past, I enjoyed paper piecing.
What does your workspace look like?
Have you been a pattern tester before?
This is my first time as a pattern tester. In another life, I worked for Australian Patchwork & Quilting magazine as a Technical Editor, so I tested a lot of patterns in print!
Tell us about your Sewing Hexessories. Did you make them with anyone in mind?
It was a lot of fun to see what else could be done with hexagons!
What would you say to someone thinking about making the Sewing Hexessories?
Just DO IT! In fact, do a few, the first one is the trickiest but once you get the idea, they’re pretty quick.
If you could make a set of sewing Hexessories for anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and why?
My Grandmother, I think she would love having all the necessities at her fingertips in a cute design.
Where can we see more of your work?
All the years at the magazine, I was pretty much behind the scenes. I did have one cover quilt though - check out Australian Patchwork & Quilting Vol. 5 No. 4
Thanks for sharing Becky! - Your technical editing skills are amazing. Your thoughtful and thorough feedback have made this pattern into something I am really proud of!
The Sewing Hexessories pattern will be released on Friday 28th August 2020

Until next time folks,
