Christmas In July - Day 2

Day 2 of Christmas In July and I’m sharing the stockings that I made for my boys 8 or 9 years ago

2 red handmade christmas stockings with machine embroidered names in acid green thread The stockings have gingerbread man, christmas tree and snowman appliques. Machine embroidered snowflake in purple and white.

Each has their name machine embroidered on (using my Janome MC9500) and a variety of simple fabric appliqués.

The gingerbread men and Christmas tree 🎄 were made by drawing around cookie cutters! And the snowman ☃️ was made using an assortment of jar lids.

They’re machine stitched in place and then I used big stitch quilting and french knots to add details.

Sometimes it’s the simple little things that make a big impact.

We don’t have a fireplace in our home, but the Boys make sure that one of the first things put out when we decorate for Christmas is their stockings. They hang them on each end of the stair balustrade.

Where do you hang yours?  Let me know in the comments!

Until tomorrow...

Happy Stitching xx
